Elon Musk's net worth has plummeted by more than $200 billion over the past 13 months, deeming it to be one of the biggest losses of wealth in recent history. 

The billionaire tycoon lost more than half of his fortune between November 2021 and December this year, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index , mainly due to the collapse of the Tesla stock during that time. 

Even though this was a large hit for him, he currently sits at $138 billion, which could buy 76.2 million troy ounces of gold. And would still put him at roughly 2% of the total wealth of the 500 most richest people in the world.
