Missing Woman found dead in submerged car

According to a missing persons poster shared on a community Facebook page, Sequoia Cotton, 26, of Statesville, NC went missing on December 22 and was found deceased in a submerged vehicle that ran off the road, hit a bridge railing and overturned, sinking into the river.

According to the Facebook post shared "Sequoia was supposed to attend a Christmas Bar Crawl with her sister, but she never showed up," the post said "This has never happened before. Now, her phone is going straight to voicemail."

Sequoia drove a 1999 Oldsmobile 88 when it ran off the road. "Excessive speed is suspected to be a factor in the crash" the Highway patrol stated to the Queen City News.

One of Cotton's older sisters set up a gofundme describing Sequoia to be "Full of so much joy and sunshine"

Prayers go out to Sequoia's Family and love ones at this time.
