Minimum wage increase effective 12/31/2022:

Yes, you've heard correct. BUT... it's only for selected states...

Effective on New Years Day 27 States and 41 cites will see an increase in their minimum wage. Some will take into effect on January 1, 2023.

According to blog post from  TheHill.Com. California will have the highest minimum wage rate at $15.50, 50 cents up from the prior rate of $15.00. only Washington D.C has a higher minimum wage rate of $16.10. D.C rates may rise again in July 2023 in proportion to the increase of the consumer price index, according to its Department of Employment Services. and according to Baller Alert blog, Minnesota's city St. Paul will also receive an increased rate of $15.19 per hour. Oregon's rate will increase from the current rate of $13.50 to an undetermined amount pending the release of the Consumer Price Index that is a figure released by the U.S Bureau Labor of Statics.
